Duminica: Retrospectiva externa a saptamanii (28 iunie-4 iulie)

* Pe data de 1 iulie, Korn au aparut in cadrul celebrei emisiuni "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Filmarile noilor piese 'Oildale (Leave Me Alone)' si 'Let The Guilt Go' pot fi urmarite pe Youtube, mai jos.

Intr-un interviu pentru The Pulse Of Radio, solistul trupei Korn, Jonathan Davis, a dezvaluit motivele pentru care a decis reintoarcerea la vechiul sound:

"We felt it was time for us to go back and try and do like an old-school record. After 'Peachy', we started, you know, working with different producers and really experimenting, and with 'Untitled' it feels like we've explored all we wanted to explore, and it was time for us to strip things back down again and just write an intense, emotional record."

Noul album Korn, intitulat "Korn III - Remember Who You Are", va fi lansat pe data de 13 iulie prin intermediul celebrului label Roadrunner Records. Producatorul albumului nu este nimeni altul decat Ross Robinson, cel care s-a ocupat si de primele doua albume ale trupei.


* Bad Religion se pregatesc de lansarea unui nou album, cel de-al cincisprezecelea din cariera trupei. Noul material discografic, despre care se stie deja ca va contine 16 piese si va fi lansat pe data de 28 septembrie, va fi intitulat, conform basistului Jay Bentley, "The Dissent Of Man".

Noul album va fi inregistrat in formula Greg Graffin (voce, 1979–prezent), Brett Gurewitz (chitara, 1979–1983, 1986–1994, 2001–prezent), Jay Bentley (bas, 1979–1982, 1986–prezent), Greg Hetson (chitara, 1984–prezent), Brian Baker (chitara, 1994–prezent) si Brooks Wackerman (tobe, 2001–prezent).


* Trupa 36 Crazyfists a ales deja primul single ce va promova noul lor album, intitulat "Collisions And Castaways". Melodia se numeste 'Reviver' si poate fi deja cumparata de pe iTunes.

Frontmanul trupei, Brock Lindow, a declarat prin intermediul unui comunicat de presa ca albumul este: "[…] a fierce, dark, crushing collection of eleven tracks that rip from the speaker like a runaway train."

In ceea ce priveste temele melodiilor solistul a spus:

"It's definitely about life, my life and possibly all our lives."[…] "It's just something I wanted to get off my chest. All these years, I have been saying if you can quit making some of these mistakes, your life is going to change and you're going to better and you have to be proactive about it. I thought I was doing it myself, but I wasn't. I really wanted to talk about what has hampered progress for me in my life. It's about trying to be the best human being you can be and really putting some things to rest and moving forward."

Artwork-ul albumului va arata astfel:

* Celebra formatie britanica de alternative/post-grunge Bush a revenit pe scena, dupa 8 ani de absenta, nu insa in formula originala. Solistul Gavin Rossdale nu va mai canta alaturi de Nigel Pulsford si Dave Parsons, cei doi fiind inlocuiti de chitaristul Chris Traynor si basistul Corey Britz.

In aceasta noua formula, trupa va sustine pe data de 25 septembrie primul concert dupa o pauza de opt ani, in cadrul Epicenter Music Festival din California. Tot in septembrie va fi lansat un nou material discografic, intitulat "Everything Always Now". Albumul va aparea la label-ul Interscope si va fi produs de Bob Rock.

Bush s-au format in 1994 la Londra si au la activ alte patru albume:
- "Sixteen Stone" (1994)
- "Razorblade Suitcase" (1996)
- "The Science of Things" (1999)
- "Golden State" (2001).

* Noul videoclip al trupei Papa Roach, 'Kick In The Teeth' poate fi urmarit la acest link.

Piesa reprezinta primul single extras de pe noul album al trupei, intitulat "Time For Annihilation...On The Road and On The Record", care va contine deopotriva inregistrari de studio si inregistrari live.

Albumul va aparea pe data de 31 august la noua casa de discuri a trupei, Eleven Seven Music.


* Celebra formatie de trip-hop Portishead a anuntat ca a inceput lucrul la cel de-al patrulea album din cariera trupei. Geoff Barrow a marturisit in cadrul unui interviu pentru BBC6 Music ca doreste foarte mult sa compuna noi piese pentru a lansa un nou disc.

"I just want to bang on and get another record done."

Tot in cadrul aceluiasi interviu, Barrow a mai spus ca trupa a semnat un contract cu o noua casa de discuri, dar nu a precizat care.

"It's with a major. It's with the biggest record company in the world. It's with people we trust, which with a band is the most important thing."

Ultimul album al formatiei, intitulat "Third", a aparut in anul 2008 si a marcat revenirea trupei dupa o pauza de 11 ani.


*Tobosarul trupei Radiohead, Philip Selway, va lansa un album solo, intitulat "Familial", pe data de 30 august. Primul single de pe acesta, 'By Some Miracle', poate fi ascultat pe siteul oficial al artistului. De asemenea, acesta se ofera sa trimita melodia gratis oricui ii trimite un mail la aceasta adresa.

*Legendara trupa de post-rock Godspeed You !Black Emperor va pleca in primul lor turneu dupa o pauza de de 7 ani.

Trupa a anuntat deocamdata patru de show-uri in Marea Britanie:

7 decembrie - Manchester
8 decembrie - Glasgow
12 decembrie – Bristol
13 decembrie Londra.

"[…]We only had about an hour's worth of stuff back then because most of Paranoid was actually written on stage in these little clubs we used to do for eight hours a day. We wrote most of the Paranoid album while we were on tour before the first album even came out, and then we took about five days out and recorded Paranoid, then [we] went back on the road."

"I switched from rhythm guitar because a lot of the bands were getting into Cream and Hendrix and people like that. You're either a lead guitarist or a bass guitarist, and there was just no call for rhythm guitarists if you wanted to play that kind of stuff. When I went to see Cream [I] couldn't believe the way that Bruce played bass, and it sort of totally inspired me to take up bass. That's the direction I wanted to go in. Everybody in [Sabbath] liked Cream and Hendrix and Zepplin, and I suppose it was a natural progression for us to get even heavier than they were."


* Marilyn Manson a realizat o expozitie de arta la galleria Kunsthalle din Viena, in colaborare cu celebrul regizor american David Lynch. Picturile lui Manson alcatuiesc o serie intitulata "Genealogies of Pain".

Manson-pictorul a declarat pentru The Sydney Morning Herald:

"I feel very comfortable when I'm on stage in front of thousands of people. However, it's quite frightening to come into a room that is full of my pictures and people looking at them. Art gives me the freedom I don't have when I make music. In music you feel a connection to the voice and think about the person behind it. In art that's secondary."
