Duminica: Retrospectiva externa a saptamanii (26 aprilie-2 mai)

* "So why try, if ya gonna die.
You're goin straight to the gate in the sky!"
'Why Try', o piesa nou-nouta Limp Bizkit, care va fi inclusa pe viitorul album al trupei, "Gold Cobra", poate fi ascultata mai jos.
* Supergrupul heavy metal Cavalera Conspiracy a terminat inregistrarile pentru cel de-al doilea album de studio. Acesta a fost inregistrat alaturi de fostul chitarist Machine Head si Soulfly, Logan Mader, si va fi lansat la Roadrunner Records, spre sfarsitul anului curent.
"Inflikted" este pana in prezent singurul album de studio lansat de Cavalera Conspiracy. Discul, lansat in 2008, a primit review-uri foarte bune, fiind unul dintre cele mai apreciate albume de gen ale deceniului trecut.
Cavalera Conspiracy inseamna:
Max Cavalera – voce, chitara ritm;
Igor Cavalera – tobe, percutie;
Marc Rizzo – chitara solo;
Joe Duplantier – bas.
* Desi si-au inceput activitatea in cadrul plutonului initial NU metal, Deftones s-au distantat incet-incet de aceasta abordare stilistica, "Deftones" (2003) si "Saturday Night Wrist" (2006) explorand laturi muzicale complet diferite de primele albume ale trupei. "Diamond Eyes", care va fi lansat peste doua zile, imbina cumva cele doua laturi ale trupei, continand in egala masura elemente heavy si atmosferice.
In preajma lansarii noului album, site-ul Artistdirect.com a realizat un interviu cu Chino Moreno, care poate fi citit in intregime aici.
Iata cateva fragmente din interviu:
"The day before yesterday, we were rehearsing some material from Deftones, and I didn't remember the lyrics for a lot of those songs because we hadn't played them in so long. When we started playing "Battle Axe," I thought, "This song is pretty fun musically." I completely forgot the lyrics, so I took a look at them again. Reading the lyrics, I thought, "Wow, I can possibly see what I was talking about in the song, but there's nothing really compelling that I say in it."
"We didn't look at "Diamond Eyes" like we were going to try to remake White Pony. We looked to make something that's futuristic-sounding in ways. The only way we did that was by getting out of our comfort zone sometimes. When instinct would be to go this way, we'd try something out of the box or think left-of-center."
"I love "Hell Awaits". That's my favorite Slayer record! I remember the first time I walked by Phil Anselmo's dressing room when we were touring with Pantera and I heard The Smiths coming out of it. I was perplexed! I eventually said something to him about it, and he was like, "Yeah, I like all kinds of stuff!"
* Astazi se implinesc 4 ani de la lansarea celui mai recent album de studio Tool, "10 000 Days". Ultimele 3 albume ale trupei, "Aenima", "Lateralus" si "10 000 Days" au fost lansate la intervale de 5 ani (1996-2001-2006). Recent, James Maynard Keenan, Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor si Adam Jones au anuntat ca au inceput sa lucreze la un nou LP, care va fi cel de-al cincilea din discografia trupei.
De asemenea, Tool au anuntat primele live-uri din 2010, toate in SUA. Noi date urmeaza a fi confirmate. Ultimele concerte Tool au avut loc in vara anului trecut.

* How To Destroy Angels este numele celui mai nou proiect muzical al front-man-ului Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor. Acesta va colabora cu sotia sa, Mariqueen Maandig.
Nu exista deocamdata prea multe informatii, decat site-ul oficial, pe care se afla imaginea si videoclipurile de mai jos. De asemenea, pe pagina de myspace sunt trecute genurile "indie/alternative/electronica."
Se pare ca un EP auto-intitulat va fi lansat in acesta vara.
* Dupa ce 'Between The Lines' a fost primit excelent de fani, o noua piesa de viitorul album de studio Stone Temple Pilots, 'Hickory Dichotomy', poate fi ascultata online.
"Stone Temple Pilots", primul album pentru formatie dupa 9 ani, va fi lansat pe data de 25 mai. In fiecare saptamana ramasa pana la lansare, un nou single va fi lansat.
* Trupa americana de post-hardcore/metalcore Norma Jean isi va lansa pe data de 12 iulie cel de-a cincilea album de studio, "Meridional". Artwork-ul albumului, realizat de Jason Oda de la Starvingeyes.com, a fost dezvaluit prin intermediul unui scurt video de 36 de secunde, avand pe fundal un fragment dintr-o piesa care va fi inclusa pe album, 'The Anthem of the Angry Brides'.
Cory Brandan: "Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy. This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we've ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we've ever had."
* Sick Of It All au lansat un nou videoclip, la piesa 'Death Or Jail', care deschide cel mai recent album al trupei - "Based On A True Story".
Videoclipul a fost filmat in Boston de regizorii Ian McFarland si Mike Pecci. Este cel de-al zecelea videoclip realizat de trupa in cei 24 de ani de activitate, dupa 'District', 'Injustice System', 'Just Look Around', 'Potential For A Fall', 'Relentless', 'Scratch The Surface', 'Step Down', 'Take The Night Off' si 'Us Vs Them'.
