* Pe data de 1 iulie, Korn au aparut in cadrul celebrei emisiuni "Jimmy Kimmel Live!". Filmarile noilor piese 'Oildale (Leave Me Alone)' si 'Let The Guilt Go' pot fi urmarite pe Youtube, mai jos.

Intr-un interviu pentru The Pulse Of Radio, solistul trupei Korn, Jonathan Davis, a dezvaluit motivele pentru care a decis reintoarcerea la vechiul sound:

"We felt it was time for us to go back and try and do like an old-school record. After 'Peachy', we started, you know, working with different producers and really experimenting, and with 'Untitled' it feels like we've explored all we wanted to explore, and it was time for us to strip things back down again and just write an intense, emotional record."

Noul album Korn, intitulat "Korn III - Remember Who You Are", va fi lansat pe data de 13 iulie prin intermediul celebrului label Roadrunner Records. Producatorul albumului nu este nimeni altul decat Ross Robinson, cel care s-a ocupat si de primele doua albume ale trupei.


* Bad Religion se pregatesc de lansarea unui nou album, cel de-al cincisprezecelea din cariera trupei. Noul material discografic, despre care se stie deja ca va contine 16 piese si va fi lansat pe data de 28 septembrie, va fi intitulat, conform basistului Jay Bentley, "The Dissent Of Man".

Noul album va fi inregistrat in formula Greg Graffin (voce, 1979–prezent), Brett Gurewitz (chitara, 1979–1983, 1986–1994, 2001–prezent), Jay Bentley (bas, 1979–1982, 1986–prezent), Greg Hetson (chitara, 1984–prezent), Brian Baker (chitara, 1994–prezent) si Brooks Wackerman (tobe, 2001–prezent).


* Trupa 36 Crazyfists a ales deja primul single ce va promova noul lor album, intitulat "Collisions And Castaways". Melodia se numeste 'Reviver' si poate fi deja cumparata de pe iTunes.

Frontmanul trupei, Brock Lindow, a declarat prin intermediul unui comunicat de presa ca albumul este: "[…] a fierce, dark, crushing collection of eleven tracks that rip from the speaker like a runaway train."

In ceea ce priveste temele melodiilor solistul a spus:

"It's definitely about life, my life and possibly all our lives."[…] "It's just something I wanted to get off my chest. All these years, I have been saying if you can quit making some of these mistakes, your life is going to change and you're going to better and you have to be proactive about it. I thought I was doing it myself, but I wasn't. I really wanted to talk about what has hampered progress for me in my life. It's about trying to be the best human being you can be and really putting some things to rest and moving forward."

Artwork-ul albumului va arata astfel:

* Celebra formatie britanica de alternative/post-grunge Bush a revenit pe scena, dupa 8 ani de absenta, nu insa in formula originala. Solistul Gavin Rossdale nu va mai canta alaturi de Nigel Pulsford si Dave Parsons, cei doi fiind inlocuiti de chitaristul Chris Traynor si basistul Corey Britz.

In aceasta noua formula, trupa va sustine pe data de 25 septembrie primul concert dupa o pauza de opt ani, in cadrul Epicenter Music Festival din California. Tot in septembrie va fi lansat un nou material discografic, intitulat "Everything Always Now". Albumul va aparea la label-ul Interscope si va fi produs de Bob Rock.

Bush s-au format in 1994 la Londra si au la activ alte patru albume:
- "Sixteen Stone" (1994)
- "Razorblade Suitcase" (1996)
- "The Science of Things" (1999)
- "Golden State" (2001).

* Noul videoclip al trupei Papa Roach, 'Kick In The Teeth' poate fi urmarit la acest link.

Piesa reprezinta primul single extras de pe noul album al trupei, intitulat "Time For Annihilation...On The Road and On The Record", care va contine deopotriva inregistrari de studio si inregistrari live.

Albumul va aparea pe data de 31 august la noua casa de discuri a trupei, Eleven Seven Music.


* Celebra formatie de trip-hop Portishead a anuntat ca a inceput lucrul la cel de-al patrulea album din cariera trupei. Geoff Barrow a marturisit in cadrul unui interviu pentru BBC6 Music ca doreste foarte mult sa compuna noi piese pentru a lansa un nou disc.

"I just want to bang on and get another record done."

Tot in cadrul aceluiasi interviu, Barrow a mai spus ca trupa a semnat un contract cu o noua casa de discuri, dar nu a precizat care.

"It's with a major. It's with the biggest record company in the world. It's with people we trust, which with a band is the most important thing."

Ultimul album al formatiei, intitulat "Third", a aparut in anul 2008 si a marcat revenirea trupei dupa o pauza de 11 ani.


*Tobosarul trupei Radiohead, Philip Selway, va lansa un album solo, intitulat "Familial", pe data de 30 august. Primul single de pe acesta, 'By Some Miracle', poate fi ascultat pe siteul oficial al artistului. De asemenea, acesta se ofera sa trimita melodia gratis oricui ii trimite un mail la aceasta adresa.

*Legendara trupa de post-rock Godspeed You !Black Emperor va pleca in primul lor turneu dupa o pauza de de 7 ani.

Trupa a anuntat deocamdata patru de show-uri in Marea Britanie:

8 decembrie - Glasgow
12 decembrie – Bristol
13 decembrie Londra.


*Site-ul ign.com a realizat un interviu cu celebrul Geezer Butler, basistul trupelor Black Sabbath si Heaven & Hell.

"[…]We only had about an hour's worth of stuff back then because most of Paranoid was actually written on stage in these little clubs we used to do for eight hours a day. We wrote most of the Paranoid album while we were on tour before the first album even came out, and then we took about five days out and recorded Paranoid, then [we] went back on the road."

"I switched from rhythm guitar because a lot of the bands were getting into Cream and Hendrix and people like that. You're either a lead guitarist or a bass guitarist, and there was just no call for rhythm guitarists if you wanted to play that kind of stuff. When I went to see Cream [I] couldn't believe the way that Bruce played bass, and it sort of totally inspired me to take up bass. That's the direction I wanted to go in. Everybody in [Sabbath] liked Cream and Hendrix and Zepplin, and I suppose it was a natural progression for us to get even heavier than they were."


* Marilyn Manson a realizat o expozitie de arta la galleria Kunsthalle din Viena, in colaborare cu celebrul regizor american David Lynch. Picturile lui Manson alcatuiesc o serie intitulata "Genealogies of Pain".

Manson-pictorul a declarat pentru The Sydney Morning Herald:

"I feel very comfortable when I'm on stage in front of thousands of people. However, it's quite frightening to come into a room that is full of my pictures and people looking at them. Art gives me the freedom I don't have when I make music. In music you feel a connection to the voice and think about the person behind it. In art that's secondary."

* Cu o existenta de aproape 3 decenii si nu mai putin de 17 albume de studio lansate pana in prezent, The Melvins isi continua activitatea in aceeasi nota, pastrand acelasi stil experimental si brutal care i-a mentinut in underground in ciuda unei influente decisive exercitate asupra unor miscari precum hardcore punk, grunge, sludge metal sau stoner rock.

"The Bride Screamed Murder", cel de-al optsprezecelea album din discografia trupei, va fi lansat pe data de 1 iunie via Ipecac Recordings, label-ul avangardist al lui Mike Patton. De asemenea, va fi cel de-al treilea album inregistrat in componenta Buzz Osborne (voce, chitara), Dale Crover (tobe), Jared Warren (bas) si Coady Willis (tobe) si cel de-al noualea lansat la Ipecac. Precedentul disc a fost "Nude With Boots", aparut pe 16 iunie 2008.

Imediat dupa lansare, The Melvins vor pleca intr-un turneu alaturi de Isis si Totimoshi, care va include 28 de show-uri in perioada 1 iunie - 9 iulie.


* Preview-uri ale celor 9 piese care vor fi incluse pe albumul "Eparistera Daimones" al celor de la Triptykon, pot fi ascultate pe Amazon.com, la acest link. "Eparistera Daimones" este debutul discografic al trupei formate din Thomas Gabriel Fischer - voce, chitara (ex-Hellhammer, ex-Celtic Frost, ex-Apollyon Sun), Norman Lonhard - tobe, percutie (Fear My Thoughts), V. Santura - chitara, voce (Dark Fortress) si Vanja Slajh - bas. Discul va avea un artwork cu totul special, realizat de artistul elvetian H.R. Giger si de italianul Vincent Castiglia.


* In apropierea celei de-a treizecea aniversari, legendara trupa californiana de punk rock Bad Religion anunta ca va oferi un album live gratis celor care fac parte din mailing list-ul formatiei. Pentru a va alatura, accesati acest link.

Albumul va fi intitulat "30 Years Live" si va fi disponibil pentru download incepand cu data de 18 mai, doar pentru o perioada scurta de timp. Este cel de-al doilea album live din discografia trupei, primul fiind "Tested" (1997).

"To celebrate three decades of BAD RELIGION, we'll be recording a live album during our spring 2010 tour, and offering it as a free 'thank you' to the loyal fans who've been with us through all the sweet and mayhem. . . * 'Death Or Jail', o piesa nou-nouta Sick Of It All, care va face parte de pe viitorul album al trupei,"Based On A True Story", poate fi ascultata pe pagina de myspace a trupei. Tobosarul Armand Majidi, care a oferit aici descrieri ale tuturor pieselor de pe album, spune despre noul track:

"We wrote the song 'Death or Jail (based on a true story)' about friends of ours that broke away and ended up following a path that led them to self-destruction or incarceration. We all know people who have made these huge mistakes, and it's a really difficult thing to explain, especially when they come from the same place and common background. They don't just turn their backs on their friends, it's as if they're turning their backs on themselves, shutting themselves into a reality that can offer nothing but stress, violence, and wickedness. Thank goodness we had the outlet of hardcore to help us vent our frustrations, or we all might have found ourselves in a similar place. This song is dedicated to those friends that we wish could have made better choices."

De asemenea, formatia a dezvaluit si artwork-ul urmatorului album, care va fi lansat pe data de 20 aprilie.

* In asteptarea noului album, "Diamond Eyes", care va fi lansat pe 18 mai, Deftones au filmat un videoclip la primul single de pe acesta, 'Rocket Skates'. Acesta va fi lansat sub forma unui seven inch vinyl in editie limitata, pe data de 17 aprilie.

* Smashing Pumpkins vor organiza o auditie, in urma careia spera sa gaseasca un basist si un clapar nou. Billy Corgan, front-man-ul trupei, a reusit sa-l gaseasca pe tobosarul David Byrne prin aceeasi modalitate, in vara lui 2009.

Anuntul oficial suna astfel:

"Bassists and keyboardists looking to play with The Pumpkins should send their background info (including age, a resume of any bands/recorded work), photos and performance web links via email only, either to pumpkinsbass@gmail.com or pumpkinskeys@gmail.com. Note: only musicians with video clips can be considered. Youtube.com type posts are perfect--that's how Mike was found. Final date for submission is March 31st."

Basista Ginger Pooley, care a fost alaturi de Smashing Pumpkins incepand cu anul 2007, a parasit recent trupa, pentru a petrece mai mult timp alaturi de familie. Pana la gasirea unui inlocuitor, Mark Tulin de la The Electric Prunes va fi basistul trupei.

La ora actuala, Billy Corgan este singurul membru fondator Smashing Pumpkins ramas in trupa, care a devenit intre timp un fel de proiect solo al artistului. Formatia lucreaza la revolutionarul album de 44 de piese, "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope".


* Mike Patton, unul dintre cei mai productivi si originali artisti ai ultimelor decenii, lanseaza un nou proiect. Primul album Mondo Cane va fi lansat pe data de 4 mai, prin label-ul lui Patton, Ipecac Recordings.

"Mondo Cane" este o colectie de vechi piese italiene din anii '50 si '60, inregistrate la diverse show-uri din Europa, alaturi de o orchestra simfonica formata din 30 de muzicieni. Tracklist-ul albumului va fi urmatorul:

Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, Lovage, John Zorn, Kaada/Patton, Dillinger Escape Plan, Hemophiliac, Maldoror, General Patton vs. The X-Ecutioners, Rahzel sunt doar cateva dintre cele mai cunoscute formatii si colaborari ale lui Patton, un artist complet, care s-a descurcat la fel de bine cu proiecte pop, metal, jazz, electro sau avantgarde.


* Chris Cornell, carismaticul front-man al gigantilor alternative-rock Soundgarden si Audioslave, este invitat special pe noul album al trupei italiene de nu jazz Gabin, "Third And Double". Cornell canta pe piesa 'Lies', pe care cei de la Gabin o considera "cea mai personala si intima de pe album".

"Third And Double" este cel de-al treilea album Gabin, fiind precedat de "Gabin" (2002) si "Mr. Freedom" (2004).

* Trupa germana de hardcore techno Atari Teenage Riot va reveni pe scena dupa o absenta de 10 ani, pe data de 12 mai. De asemenea, pe 17 mai, formatia va lansa si un nou single, 'Activate', prin intermediul propriului label Digital Hardcore Recordings.

Alaturi de cei trei membri de baza, Alec Empire, Hanin Elias si Nic Endo, in trupa va fi cooptat si MC CX Kidtronik, care a mai lucrat cu Kanye West sau Nine Inch Nails. Acesta il va inlocui pe Carl Crack, decedat in 2001 in urma unei supradoze.

Atari Teenage Riot s-au format in 1992, lansand pana la despartirea din 2000 trei albume de studio: "Delete Yourself" (1995), "The Future of War" (1997) si "60 Second Wipe Out" (1999).


* Purtatorul de cuvant al formatiei Radiohead a declarat ca informatiile conform carora formatia va lansa cat de curand un nou album, intitulat "Tehrangeles", sunt complet false.

Stirea a pornit, se pare, de la site-ul neoficial Radiohead WASTE. Acestia au transmis prin e-mail mai multe detalii false despre un viitor material Radiohead, inclusiv track-list-ul acestuia, care ar fi continut 11 piese. Printre acestea se aflau si titlurile unor piese pe care Thom Yorke le-a cantat recent intr-un concert solo, 'The Daily Mail', 'Give Up The Ghost' si 'Supercollider'.

Cel mai recent album Radiohead, "In Rainbows", a fost lansat in 2007, fiind oferit pentru download gratuit pe site-ul trupei.


* Desi anul acesta va lansa cel de-al doilea album alaturi de Them Crooked Vultures, Dave Grohl isi face timp si pentru Foo Fighters, care, conform acestuia, vor lansa si ei un album spre sfarsitul anului. Momentan formatia lucreaza la procesul de compunere a pieselor, urmand sa intre in studio pentru a le inregistra candva in luna septembrie.

Albumul, despre care Grohl nu a mai divulgat alte detalii, va fi cel de-al saptelea din discografia trupei, care pana in prezent arata astfel:

* Glenn Danzig a lansat o carte care cuprinde toate versurile pieselor pe care le-a lansat vreodata alaturi de cele trei proiecte majore ale sale - Danzig, Misfits si Samhain. Fiecare piesa este insotita de o ilustratie realizata de Simon Bisley, un vechi colaborator si prieten al lui Glenn, care a realizat copertile a trei albume Danzig - "Thrall: Demonsweatlive", "6:66 Satan's Child " si "Lost Tracks of Danzig".

Lucrarea, intitulata "Hidden Lyrics Of The Left Hand" este o adevarata bijuterie pentru cei care apreciaza muzica lui Glenn Danzig, putand fi comandata aici.


* Intr-o prelungita criza de inspiratie care si-a facut aparitia dupa lansarea celui de-al doilea album, "Meteora" (2003), Linkin Park incearca sa reinvie spiritul trupei printr-o ampla colectie de inregistrari din concerte care va fi intitulata "LP Archives: Official Tour Bootlegs".

Materialul va putea fi downloadat la aceasta adresa incepand cu data de 17 martie, si va contine peste 100 de piese live inregistrate in perioada 2007-2009.

"We originally decided that it would be cool to let our fans buy a recording of the show they just attended. * Goldfrapp isi vor lansa cel de-al cincilea album de studio, "Head First", pe data de 22 martie. Label-ul Mute, la care va fi lansat materialul, il descrie astfel:

" "Head First" is Goldfrapp's most powerful trip to date, a speedy rush of synth optimism, euphoria, fantasy and romance. With life affirming lyrics and stellar production it lifts off at full tilt and takes us on a journey to the heart of 2010.

The diversity, ambition and direction of the new album highlights Goldfrapp as true agenda-setters and modern musical icons. ‘Head First' follows the critically acclaimed ‘Seventh Tree', and is the latest in a brilliantly consistent body of work - from the captivating electronic balladry of Mercury nominated debut ‘Felt Mountain' and its distorted-dancefloor follow-up, ‘Black Cherry' to the glitterball glamour of ‘Supernature' which came out in summer 2005 and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide."

In asteptarea albumului, Goldfrapp au realizat si un videoclip la piesa 'Rocket', care va fi lansata sub forma unui single pe data de 8 martie.

* Smashing Pumpkins au postat online o noua piesa de pe monumentalul album "Teargarden By Kaleidyscope". 'A Stitch In Time' este a treia piesa dintre cele 44 pe care la va contine albumul, fiind precedata 'A Song For A Son' (8 decembrie 2009) si 'Widow Wake My Mind' (18 ianuarie 2010).

"The song came in during a stream of consciousness moment while sitting backstage at a Pumpkins concert in those wee, still hours between soundcheck and the show. The lyrics came just as surprisingly fast as the music, and the whole process took about 20 minutes", spune Billy Corgan despre noua piesa.

Cele 44 de piese ale albumului vor fi lansate, in prima faza, pe suport fizic, sub forma unor EP-uri de cate 4 piese, urmand ca in final sa fie lansat un box-set cu toate compozitiile. Primul dintre aceste 11 EP-uri de 4 piese va fi intitulat "Volume 1/Songs For a Sailor" si va aparea pe 20 aprilie, continand piesele 'A Song For A Son', 'Widow Wake My Mind', 'A Stitch In Time' si 'Astral Planes', care urmeaza sa fie lansata.

* The Dillinger Escape Plan au lansat un nou videoclip, 'Farewell, Mona Lisa', piesa care va fi inclusa pe viitorul album de studio al trupei. "Option Paralyisis" va aparea pe 23 martie si va contine 10 piese:

* "That's it. With equal parts regret and relief, the Jane's Addiction experiment is at an end."

Acesta este mesajul postat pe Twitter prin care basistul Eric Avery a confirmat oficial despartirea de Jane's Addiction. Acestia s-au reunit pentru a treia oara la sfarsitul anului 2008, pentru prima data alaturi de Avery, care nu se prezentase la reuniunile din 1997 si 2001.

Inlocuitorul lui Avery este Duff McKagan, fost membru Ten Minute Warning, Guns'n'Roses si Velvet Revolver. Alaturi de acesta, Jane's Addiction au inceput sa compuna piese pentru un nou album, primul dupa "Strays" (2003). "We've got one great song so far called 'Top Dog'", a confirmat Farrell.


* Legendara trupa de NYHC Sick Of It All a dezvaluit tracklist-ul noului album, "Based On A True Story", care va fi lansat pe data de 20 aprilie la Century Media Records:

In ceea ce priveste directia muzicala a noului material, Sick Of It All nu isi propun nici un experiment sau schimbare de stil: "It's typical us. It's a mixture of what we love — old-school sing-along Oi! music mixed with modern hardcore. That's what we do."


* Un nou videoclip Katatonia, intitulat 'The Longest Year', poate fi urmarit mai jos. Clipul a fost regizat de Charlie Granberg, care a mai lucrat cu Bloodbath sau My Dying Bride.

Atat videoclipul cat si piesa vor fi incluse pe EP-ul "The Longest Year", care va fi lansat pe data de 15 martie.

* Toamna anului 2010 va aduce un nou album din partea uneia dintre cele mai longevive formatii ale miscarii punk rock. Cel de-al cinsprezecelea album Bad Religion, pentru care formatia a pregatit deja 16 piese, este la fel de perosnal precum "Recipe For Hate" (1993), spune solistul Greg Graffin.

Anul acesta Bad Religion implinesc 30 de ani de activitate. Aniversarea va fi serbata printr-o serie de 12 concerte sustinute in locatiile House of Blues de pe Coasta de Vest, cu un playlist care va parcurge intreaga discografie a trupei. Exista si posibilitatea ca la unul dintre aceste show-uri sa fie cantat integral clasicul album "Suffer", lansat in 1988.

"I'm mostly uplifted by the fact that a vibrant and evolving punk scene still inspires young people all over the world. If Bad Religion somehow serves as a symbol for the lasting importance of punk, then I am satisfied beyond words by reaching this milestone", spune Graffin.


* Deftones au devzaluit, in sfarsit, tracklist-ul viitorului album de studio, "Diamond Eyes", care va fi lansat pe data de 18 mai:

"Unless you count what he’s done to his career, Billy Corgan has never attempted suicide. Until recently, there were plenty of mornings when he’d wake up to a stark choice: “Go eat breakfast, or go kill yourself.” "

I’ve been too productive for too long, and despite what anybody wants to strip away from me, I am influential. I am. * Carismatica trupa new-yorkeza de gypsy punk Gogol Bordello se pregateste de lansarea unui nou album de studio, cel de-al cincilea din cariera. Acesta va fi intitulat "Trans-Continental Hustle" si va aparea pe data de 27 aprilie, fiind produs de celebrul Rick Rubin, care a mai colaborat cu artisti precum Danzig, Slayer, Flipper, System Of A Down, Limp Bizkit, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers sau Metallica.

"Trans-Continental Hustle" va contine 13 piese:

* Intr-un interviu acordat BBC 6, John Cale a declarat ca nu este interesat de o reuniune Velvet Underground, si ca tine legatura cu ceilalti membri ai trupei doar din interes de afaceri.

"It's not something that I can see happening on the basis of the past. Anyone who wants to reform The Velvet Underground for a series of concerts, to make some money, I understand that, but you can't do that."

Velvet Underground au cantat pentru ultima data in 1996, cu ocazia introducerii in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
