* Revenita pe scena dupa o absenta de 8 ani, trupa britanica Skunk Anansie a realizat un nou videoclip pentru piesa 'My Ugly Boy', primul single de pe viitorul album de studio, "Wonderlustre", planificat pentru data de 13 septembrie. Clipul poate fi vizionat mai jos:
Tobosarul trupei, Mark Richardson, a declarat despre viitorul material discografic:
"This is a really different record for us and I'm already extremely proud of what we've achieved just in terms of the songs. It's really shaping up to be something special, but then I would say that."
'Ugly Boy' este cel de-al 16-lea clip realizat de Skunk Anansie, primul fiind 'Selling Jesus' (1995) iar precedentul 'Squander' (2009).
* Chitaristul trupei Korn, James "Munky" Shaffer, va aparea ca invitat pe noul album al formatiei canadiene de industrial rock Deadly Apples. Tot ce se stie deocamdata este ca acesta a inregistrat impreuna cu grupul canadian doua piese.
Formatia Deadly Apples s-a format in 2002 si are la activ un album si un EP. Urmatorul material discografic, pe care va aparea si chitaristul Korn, va fi lansat cel mai probabil la inceputul anului viitor.

* Formatia de NU metal din Alaska 36 Crazyfists ne ofera spre ascultare o alta piesa de pe noul lor album de studio, intitulat "Collisions and Castaways". Aceasta se numeste 'Whitewater' si poate fi ascultata mai jos. O gasiti, de asemenea, si pe pagina de myspace a trupei.
Luandu-si numele dupa filmul "Jackie Chan And The 36 Crazy Fists", cei patru muzicieni originari din Kenai, Alaska, au lasat in urma in cei 16 ani de activitate patru LP-uri, cel de-al cincilea, "Collisions and Castaways", urmand sa fie lansat peste 2 zile. The New Review spune despre material: "...I really can’t find anything to complain about with Collisions and Castaways. This album is 36 Crazyfists at their best. Quite frankly, I cannot think of a better way to spend ten bucks."
* Formatia americana de metalcore Norma Jean a realizat un nou videoclip, pentru piesa 'Deathbed Atheist'. Acesta poate fi urmarit mai jos:
Piesa provine de pe cel mai recent album Norma Jean, intitulat "Meridional", care este considerat de critica de specialitate (de exemplu revista Revolver, Allmusic) drept cel mai bun produs discografic de pana acum al trupei.
* Chitaristul Fugazi, Guy Picciotto, a declarat pentru fan site-ul WorldofFugazi.org ca intentioneaza sa realizeze in viitorul apropiat un site oficial pe care sa publice toate filmarile existente din cadrul concertelor sustinute de trupa de-a lungul anilor.
"We are not that far away from being able to set up our own website where ultimately almost every show we ever played will be available for download".
Fugazi au activat intre 1987 si 2002, fiind unul dintre cele mai importante nume ale scenei hardcore punk din Washington D.C. Au fost cel de-al doilea proiect muzical al solistului Ian MacKaye, care deja intrase in arhivele muzicii punk prin activitatea pioniera desfasurata alaturi de Minor Threat. Fugazi au lansat 6 albume de studio, toate integrate in aria punk rock, dar continand si numeroase elemente experimentale. Au ramas in istorie "Repeater" (1989) si "Red Medicine" (1995), ca fiind doua dintre cele mai influente discuri ale muzicii punk.

* Chris Shiflett, chitaristul clasicei trupe de alternative Foo Fighters, a dezvaluit intr-un interviu acordat site-ului Spinner.com cateva detalii despre viitorul album de studio al formatiei.
"I've read that Dave (Grohl) said It's gonna be the heaviest Foo Fighters record ever and I think it'll definitely be a lot more rocking than the last couple. Butch Vig (who produced Nirvana's 'Nevermind') is gonna produce the record. Dave built a studio at his house and we'll be recording it there. I believe the tracking room is in fact his garage! I should probably sell it as going back to basics. The truth is it's gonna be a world class studio. We'll have a bunch of good gear. But we'll definitely be going back to basics."
Formati in 1995, Foo Fighters au lansat pana in prezent 6 albume de studio, cel mai recent fiind "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" (2007).
* Site-ul iconvsicon.com a realizat recent un interviu cu Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, basistul celor de la Korn. Cateva extrase, in care acesta vorbeste despre noul sau proiect, dar si despre situatia actuala a industriei muzicale, pot fi citite mai jos.
"I just finished mixing the last song for Stillwell. I play guitar in this project. That has been a lot of fun for me because I started out as a guitar player. I've got Q Unique on vocals, Ess Spider on bass and I've got Wuv from P.O.D. playing drums. The music is called "street metal." We are actually looking for a deal right now. I am supposed to meet with some people today about that. We are looking for a "different" type of deal to release it. So it is finished. The name of the album is "Surrounded By Liars".
"The music industry has changed so much, to the point where everybody just burns CDs or it's on your iPod. It is almost like CDs are obsolete. My youngest daughter is eight months old but I think that by the time that she is a teenager I will show her a CD and she will say, "What's that!" A good example is Stillwell. I was talking to my singer Q and said, "Let's put a product out a T-shirt or a doll and you would get the Stillwell CD for free with it." Today, you just want people to get it the music and hopefully give them a little extra in return."

* Legendarul grup de New York hardcore Madball, tocmai a terminat lucrul la un nou material discografic, intitulat "Empire". Inregistrarile au avut loc in studioul Mana din Florida, iar de productie s-a ocupat Erik Rutan (Misery Index, Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore).
Iata cateva declaratii ale solistului Freddy Cricien, din care putem afla unele detalii legate de noul album:
"There's a certain sound that we're known for, and as much as we want to evolve with the times, we also have to keep in mind that there's a certain standard and integrity with Madball, and we have to preserve that."
"Madball has come a long way from being street kids to becoming very established in our genre, and even beyond the music. We're finally at a point in our life where we're taking control of our things, whereas before we didn't have control of some things or didn't choose to have control. We have the feeling that we've built a little empire for ourselves with our band, brand, and different endeavors."
"There are plenty of awesome bands that have come out of the city. Agnostic Front are the godfathers of New York hardcore, Sick Of It All are one of the undisputed champs of the scene... we were always known as more of the bad guys, but now people are calling us the kings. It's not a title we gave ourselves and it's not that we call ourselves that, but it's just a term of endearment and respect that people use and it plays into the name 'Empire'."
* Gavin Rossdale, revenit de curand pe scena alaturi de trupa care l-a facut celebru - Bush, a dezvaluit pentru The Pulse of Radio ca dupa terminarea turneului pentru promovarea albumului sau solo, intitulat "Wanderlust", a gasit de cuviinta ca e timpul pentru o reuniune a trupei.
"I went right the next day off of tour into the studio to write, and it just dawned on me that really kind of the weakest link in doing these songs was maybe bringing it under my own name. I felt that the solo thing was cool, but it was more by default than design, and I really was just thinking, 'Man, this should just be — why is this not Bush? I mean, this is crazy.'"
Gavin Rossdale a pus bazele trupei Bush in 1992, alaturi de chitaristul Nigel Pulsford. Au debutat in 1994 cu albumul "Sixteen Stone", care s-a vandut in mai bine de 10 milioane de exemplare. Dupa 10 ani de activitate, din cauza popularitatii in scadere si a unor conflicte cu casa de discuri, Bush s-au hotarat sa se retraga. Dupa 2 ani petrecuti alaturi de o noua trupa, Institute, Rossdale s-a aventurat intr-o cariera solo care nu s-a apropiat de succesul avut alaturi de Bush. * Dupa lansarea celui mai recent disc, "Korn III - Remember Who You Are", Korn se afla in prim planul scenei muzicale actuale, beneficiind de o atentie considerabila din partea mass-mediei. Chitaristul si membrul fondator Munky a acordat pe data de 11 iulie un interviu unui post local de radio din Mountain View, California. In cadrul acestei discutii, Munky a dezvaluit faptul ca printre formatiile sale preferate se numara si Triptykon, noua trupa a lui Tom G. Warrior, fostul solist Celtic Frost.
Triptykon s-au format in 2008, dupa destramarea Celtic Frost, in Zurich, Elvetia. Primul album, "Eparistera Daimones", a fost primit foarte bine de comunitatea metal, fiind un disc intunecat care continua linia trasata de ultimul material Celtic Frost, "Monotheist". Zilele glam metal ale lui Tom Warrior sunt demult apuse, iar "Eparistera Daimones" este o combinatie letala de black metal, death, doom si avantgarde.
