In clubul bucurestean Control continua concertele cu trupe indie / alternative de peste hotare.
Blurt - 26 martie
Trupa de alternative infiintata in 1979, in Stroud, Anglia, de poetul si saxofonistul Ted Milton. Muzica acestora se bazeaza pe fragmente minimaliste si repetitive de saxofon sau chitara, beat-uri simple si monotone, peste care Milton isi recita versurile.
The Post War Years - 4 aprilie
Dupa doua concerte la celebrul festival SXSW si inca o oprire in Londra, cei de la the Post War Years vin in Control. O trupa de ambient originara din Londra, a caror auto-descriere suna astfel: "Post War Years' off-kilter music is quite boring to listen to, and you probably wouldn't like it. But I bet you will. It's brilliant, and it's not off-kilter. Trust me. "
Handsome Furs - 15 mai
Vin din Quebec, Canada si trec si ei pe la SXSW anul acesta. Din nou ii lasam pe ei sa se prezinte: "Handsome Furs are not a message band and they are not political, but Handsome Furs are a message band and they are political. The juxtaposition of cold, metronomic, electronic beats, courtesy of Alexei Perry, with the jagged, dissonant and frail, broken or breaking, guitars of Dan Boeckner portray what it is to be a human being at the bottom of the 21st century."
Rainbow Arabia - 22 mai
Nu mai e cazul sa mentionam ca si ei canta anul acesta la SXSW. Vin din California, canta muzica electronica in care incorporeaza elemente zouk si gothic. "...creating the kind of noise you could imagine the DFA might make had they ever decided to throw a party in the underground ruins of Egypt, the ghosts of the Pyramids shaken into action by the sinuous rhythms and earth quaking basslines."
The Legendary Pink Dots - 21 mai
Trupa de muzica experimentala formata in 1980, in Londra. Muzica lor a fost de-a lungul vremii caracterizata printr-o multitudine de termeni: ambient, synth-pop, avant-garde, industrial, noise, neo-psychedelia, folk, goth, fiind deseori comparati cu Syd Barret, Pink Floyd sau Can. Fara a intra niciodata in mainstream, TLPD au lansat aproape 40 de albume.
